So, I went to the Black Keys concert in Burnaby last night. IT WAS EPIC. They sound absolutely amazing live. Impeccable, really. But I couldn't help noticing something odd - particularly while waiting for/riding the bus from Metrotown to Deer Lake Park.

All the "I'm such a unique individual" hipsters were wearing the same thing. It's like there was a dress code mail-out ahead of time.

It breaks down like this:

My essay on unworthy suitors in 18th Century literature would have been so much better if I could use this as my conclusion:

"In conclusion, though the characters of Willoughby and Thorpe are highly unsuitable in the eyes of the reader, they are a necessary evil in creating a divide between the worthy and the unworthy. It's like in Twilight when Bella has to choose between Edward and Jacob. Edward is constantly polite, with fantastic manners and concern to preserve her virtue, whereas Jacob is constantly forcing himself upon Bella with no regard to her virtue. The baser desires of Jacob clearly denote Edward as the superior suitor for Bella, just like the deceptive behaviors of Thorpe and Willoughby prove them to be far less desirable than the more virtuous and honourable attentions of Tilney and Orville. The end."

I talked to my boss yesterday about starting our fundraising for the Red Cross early in the wake of what's happened in Japan. Usually, the company does a large, multi-million dollar fundraising effort in late-spring/early-summer. Apparently continuing to push for customers to have a membership card is more important than helping those in need. There are also options to donate money to help those in Libya.

It may not be much, but I thought I'd post links online to do what I can to help out. A lot of the sites/links/foundations that are out there right now are American that Canadians can't use, so here are some links for Canadians that are official and will go to those in need.

Canadian Red Cross Website

To donate to Canadian Red Cross through your cell phone, text ASIA to 30333 (100 per cent of your $5 donation goes to the Canadian Red Cross Japan Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami fund). Whatever you donate will be added to your phone bill at the end of the month.

On your iTunes account, you can click the “Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Donate Here" button which also donates to the Red Cross, though I believe it's the American Red Cross. 100% of the donations will go to Red Cross.

Unicef.ca Emergency Fund Donation Website

With the addition of nuclear radiation to the aftermath of the natural disasters, Japan needs our help more than ever.

This post is pointless, except to fangirl and sigh about how gorgeous and cute Rob is in the new WFE trailer.

example:

So freaking sweet and adorable. Can not wait for this movie.
Also, I'm so surprised it started out as a Nanowrimo story. Obviously this means I must do Nano next year so that my story can be made into a movie starring Rob.

It's just how it must be done.

Anybody know where I can find some good Boardwalk Empire / Jimmy Dormody icons? Normally I'd just make them myself but in between homework, work, and being sick I just don't have the time.

Also, if you know where any good Boardwalk Empire gifs are, they would also be welcome.

Tried to sleep, failed miserably, in pain and sick so this amused me for about a half an hour. Fill it out and repost!

Stolen from Tumblr.

1. Bold the names of guys you’d definitely get with.
2. Italicize the names of guys you might get with after a little persuasion.
3. Leave the guys who don’t do anything for you alone.
4. Put a question (?) mark after the guys you’ve never heard of.
5. Strike the guys you wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole.
6. Add three guys to the list.

Halloween was uneventful. I worked. My attempts at makeup were laughable. I just really can't do make-up any more than a light brushing of a neutral eyeshadow and some mascara and lipgloss.

Next year I intend to be awesome. I'm thinking an Edward Scissorhands costume. It will be epic.
